Cagrilintide

Cagrilintide is a long-acting analogue of amylin, a peptide hormone co-secreted with insulin, developed by Novo Nordisk and studied in the context of body-weight regulation. Published literature includes a randomised, double-blind phase 2 trial that examined once-weekly cagrilintide in adult participants with overweight or obesity (Lau et al., Lancet 2021). The compound has also been studied in combination with the GLP-1 analogue semaglutide, a pairing designated CagriSema, which the phase 3 REDEFINE programme has evaluated in several thousand adult participants; results of the 68-week REDEFINE 1 trial were reported in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2025.
