Reference comparison

KPV vs BPC-157

Both appear in inflammatory and tissue-repair research. One is a tripeptide fragment of a hormone; the other a synthetic sequence derived from a gastric protein.

Research use only. Not for human or veterinary use. This page compares what each compound is and what published literature has examined. It does not describe outcomes, does not recommend either material, and is not guidance on use.

How they differ

Size and origin

KPV is a tripeptide - lysine, proline, valine - corresponding to the C-terminal fragment of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. BPC-157 is a fifteen-residue synthetic sequence derived from a protein found in gastric juice. KPV is among the smallest peptides in general research use.

Mechanism examined

KPV literature concentrates on inflammatory signalling, particularly NF-kB pathway activity, following from the anti-inflammatory properties attributed to its parent hormone. BPC-157 work concentrates on angiogenesis and growth-factor receptor expression.

Stability

Very short peptides such as KPV behave differently in solution from longer sequences. Both are supplied as lyophilised powder, which is the stable form for storage and transport in either case.

As supplied

Both are stocked at 10 mg per vial with a certificate published against the lot, so the per-vial mass is directly comparable even though the molecular weights are not.
