Lyophilised material is shipped cold-chain-independent, but transit time still matters, and so does knowing exactly where a package has been. Local delivery removes a carrier leg entirely: the lot leaves our shelf and arrives the same day, with the same certificate and the same lot number on the box.
It also means you can verify what you're getting before it changes hands.
