GHK-Cu
GHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine, also designated copper tripeptide-1. The free peptide was first isolated from human serum (Pickart & Thaler, Nature New Biology 1973), with later work associating it with copper transport. Published work sits mainly in dermatological and cosmetic-science research: collagen I, IV and VII transcript changes were measured in cultured human dermal fibroblasts and ex vivo skin (Jiang et al., Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology 2023). A review of the field (Pickart & Margolina, International Journal of Molecular Sciences 2018) draws largely on cell-culture and animal models rather than controlled human trials.
